2026 is off to a great start as PPMA remains committed to being a unified voice for podiatrists in Pennsylvania, advocating on legislative issues, delivering valuable benefits, and remaining a trusted resource for members.

We continue to monitor the status and progress of PA House Bill 1391 (Orthotics), evaluate the potential impact of the Interstate Licensure Compacts on our profession, and discuss the podiatry exclusion from the Fair Contracting Health Care Practitioners Act, which took effect last year.

Our office notified you of updates to Medicare’s Skin-Substitute Reimbursements and the reversal of that decision. If new updates arise, we will send a notification to our members.

Representatives of PA will travel to Washington, D.C., to attend the APMA House of Delegates meeting in March. PPMA attended the American Podiatric Medical Students’ Association (APMSA) Legislative Day at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), driving the importance of getting involved in advocacy from the start.

The Foundation for Podiatric Education’s marketing efforts to increase awareness of careers in podiatric medicine continue to expand its reach. We will keep you posted on the progress of the campaign.

Organizations seeking to establish their brand with Pennsylvania’s podiatric community can learn more about our new Partnership Program, which offers a range of advertising opportunities, including event sponsorship and more. Please encourage the representatives you work with to contact our office for more information.

PPMA recently sent out a survey to ensure we continue to provide valuable membership benefits. Our new Career Center, a virtual career community, connects Pennsylvania podiatric employers and podiatric employees at no charge to members.

The Goldfarb Foundation recently held two successful virtual meetings, allowing members to earn quality education credits from the comfort of their homes or offices while saving on registration fees with their membership discount. Registration is being accepted for the third year of LESS CHAOS (Lower Extremity Surgical Symposium), scheduled to take place May 28-31st in Philadelphia (Loews Philadelphia Hotel). The event is a hands-on, intimate meeting that is gaining momentum. Surgeons (and residents) who wish to enhance their surgical skills should attend.

As you work towards your own goals in 2026, please feel free to contact our office at any time with any concerns you may have.
