MIPS

MIPS, or the Merit-based Incentive Payment System, is a program administered by CMS that determines whether eligible clinicians or clinician groups receive a positive, negative, or neutral adjustment to their Medicare Part B payments.

Your composite MIPS Score will depend on how your practice reports: individual, group, virtual group, or as a MIPS APM Entity. After reporting and/or attesting for each performance category, you will be assigned a raw score, which will be used in calculating your final MIPS composite score (out of 100). LEARN MORE

With Medicare Open Enrollment going on now, Novitas encourages providers to take advantage of the Eligibility and MBI Lookup Tools available in Novitasphere, its free internet portal. The features can save your office valuable time, as stated by the Novitasphere users below. 

The MBI Lookup Tool can be used to locate a patient’s new Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) numbers when the patient is unable to provide their updated card.  See how easy it is by watching this informational video:

The Eligibility feature is used to obtain important eligibility details and can be printed or saved with the patient’s records.  Some key information provided by the Eligibility feature that Novitasphere users find most helpful include:

·         Effective and termination dates for Part A and Part B

·         Current year Part B remaining and total deductible

·         Physical and Occupational Therapy amounts used for the year

·         Medicare Advantage Plan information (MAP)

·         Medicare as Secondary Payer information (MSP)

·         Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) information
