As we reflect on our recent Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association House of Delegates meeting held in Pittsburgh this June, I am reminded of the strength, dedication, and commitment that define our membership. The annual House of Delegates meeting provides an important opportunity for leaders from across the Commonwealth to come together, discuss the future of our profession, and ensure PPMA continues to serve as a strong advocate for Pennsylvania podiatrists.

One of the highlights of this year’s meeting was the recognition of our members who have celebrated 25 years or more of PPMA membership. These individuals have demonstrated an enduring commitment to both our profession and our association. Their continued involvement serves as an inspiration to all of us, and we thank them for their years of service and support.

Delegates also reviewed and approved updates to the Association’s bylaws, ensuring that PPMA remains responsive to the evolving needs of our members and positioned for future growth. Additionally, our divisions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening our advocacy efforts by pledging support for the PPMA Political Action Committee (PAC) and APMA PAC. A strong PAC allows us to maintain a voice in Harrisburg and advocate for policies that protect and advance the practice of podiatric medicine throughout Pennsylvania.

Legislative advocacy remains one of the Association’s most important responsibilities. During the meeting, delegates reviewed and discussed legislative initiatives including parity in coverage of DMEPOS, the creation of an interstate licensure compact for podiatry, and non-compete agreements in podiatry. Through ongoing monitoring and engagement, PPMA continues to work on behalf of members to ensure podiatric physicians have a seat at the table when healthcare policy decisions are made.

While our House of Delegates meeting showcased the many ways PPMA is working for its members, there is even more ahead. I encourage all members to mark their calendars for August 1, when registration opens for our annual Clinical Conference in Philadelphia this November at the Hilton Philadelphia City Ave. Don’t miss out on the opportunities offered to complete your Act 124 and Act 31 licensing requirements.

The Clinical Conference provides exceptional continuing education, networking opportunities, and valuable insights from leaders throughout the profession. Members can maximize the value of their PPMA membership by taking advantage of Early Bird registration rates and applying their member discount when registering. Combining these savings makes attending a quality continuing education conference even more affordable.

PPMA remains committed to delivering meaningful member benefits, advancing legislative priorities, supporting professional development, and strengthening the future of podiatric medicine in Pennsylvania. Thank you for your continued membership and engagement. Together, we are building a stronger profession and a stronger Association.

I look forward to seeing many of you in Philadelphia this November.
