PPMA proudly honors a board member whose leadership, wisdom, and genuine commitment have made a lasting difference in our organization. John A. Mattiacci, DPM, PPMA’s Board Secretary and past president, will retire on June 30th from his role as Dean and CEO of The Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine—a position he has held with care and purpose since 1998.

For nearly 30 years, Dr. Mattiacci has shown up—reliably and wholeheartedly—bringing his time, energy, and passion to PPMA board meetings and well beyond. His contributions go far deeper than hours logged; he has helped shape the direction of our organization and inspired those around him to keep reaching higher. To many, he is simply someone who always believed in what we could do.

His fingerprints are on some of our most important progress: recognizing that members and their families needed access to affordable healthcare coverage and helping make it happen, and shining a light on the student recruitment challenges that now call us all to action.

The recognition Dr. Mattiacci has earned reflects a career rich with service: PPMA’s Podiatrist of the Year, national honors from the APMA, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He has also served as Vice President of the First National Guild for Healthcare Providers of the Lower Extremity/OPEIU Guild 45, founded The Diabetic Chronic Wounds Center, and served as Resident Director at Temple University Health System Hospitals.

From all of us at PPMA—thank you, Dr. Mattiacci. Thank you for your generosity, your steady presence, and the real difference you’ve made. We wish you a retirement that is everything you’ve earned.
