PA Podiatric Medical Association Welcomes New President

Laura Virtue-Delayo DPM, of Scranton, to lead Board of Directors

PA Podiatric Medical Association is proud to announce its next President of the Board of Directors for the next term, Laura Virtue-Delayo.

Virtue-Delayo is affiliated with the Commonwealth Health Physician Network and Moses Taylor Hospital. She has been treating patients for over 20 years.

Virtue-Delayo is entering into this role at a critical time as the board is collaborating with podiatric boards in other states discussing the relevance of USMLE, an exam determining if physicians are qualified to practice medicine.

Additionally, at a time when COVID has impacted not only the health but the finances of many of our residents, the HELLPP ACT has been introduced into legislation. The bill will allow podiatrists to receive reimbursement from Medicaid if they choose to.

“I’m excited to transition into this role at a critical time for our healthcare system and our profession. It’s important that the podiatrists in the state pull together to have one large voice during a time in which we need to work together,” says Virtue-Delayo.

PA Podiatric Medical Association represents almost 900 members throughout the state.

The association helps its members obtain affordable malpractice insurance, is a voice for regulatory affairs, and provides its members with opportunities to obtain continuing education credits to keep their license up to date so they can serve PA residents with the best care.

PPMA Installs New Officers

Laura Virtue-Delayo, DPM, practitioner in Scranton, PA, was installed on November 13, 2021 as the new President of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association (PPMA) during its House of Delegates Banquet at The Sheraton, Harrisburg, PA. The rest of the officers are as follows:
